Air India has launched a new service called ‘Fly Prior,’ designed to enhance flexibility for travelers flying domestically. This innovative option allows passengers to board an alternative flight up to 12 hours earlier than their originally scheduled departure, provided both flights are on the same date. This development aims to accommodate last-minute changes in travel plans, whether for urgent appointments or simply to arrive at a destination sooner.

The ‘Fly Prior’ service is available exclusively at Air India’s ticketing counters and check-in desks across Indian airports. It is complimentary for Gold and Platinum members of the Flying Returns loyalty program, while other passengers can access it for a nominal fee. The pricing structure varies depending on the flight route: ₹2,199 for flights between major cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi, and ₹1,499 for flights to or from other destinations within India.

Once passengers opt for this service, they will receive immediate confirmation of their new booking on the earlier flight. Their checked baggage will also be seamlessly transferred to the new flight, along with any additional services previously purchased, such as excess baggage or priority handling. However, seat selection and special meal requests will need to be re-confirmed.

This initiative is part of Air India’s ongoing transformation journey under the Vihaan.AI plan, aimed at improving customer experience and operational efficiency. By introducing ‘Fly Prior,’ Air India is responding to the evolving needs of modern travelers who seek greater control over their travel schedules.

Overall, ‘Fly Prior’ represents a significant step forward in enhancing passenger convenience and satisfaction within the Indian aviation sector.
