Sirius India Airlines, a Gurugram-based air charter services operator, has announced plans to raise $100 million through a mix of debt and strategic investments. The funds will support the company’s ambitious fleet expansion and entry into international markets, including the Far East, Southeast Asia, and East Africa.
Expansion Goals
Sirius aims to grow its fleet to 50 private jets by FY27 as part of its long-term strategy. Currently operating with a fleet of three luxury jets, the company provides services in the domestic market as well as the Middle East. Founder and promoter Arun Kashyap stated that the proceeds from the fundraising will be used for fleet acquisitions, strengthening domestic operations, and entering new international markets.
The proposed capital is expected to be secured by March 2025, with implementation beginning in FY26. Kashyap noted that discussions are ongoing with a mix of lenders and strategic investors to raise the required funds. The first phase of the expansion plan includes the addition of 10 aircraft in the next fiscal year, comprising both small and medium jets as well as group charter flight-capable aircraft.
Collaborations and Market Presence
Sirius India Airlines launched its operations in August 2024 in partnership with Transworld Group, a Dubai-based logistics and transportation company. The company also has a strategic partnership with the luxury private air travel brand Airavat Aviation, which has a strong presence across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Asia. This collaboration underscores Sirius India’s commitment to offering premium air charter services.
Addressing Growing Demand
The air charter segment is witnessing soaring demand across corporate and lifestyle travel markets. Sirius India Airlines is enhancing its presence in western and southern Indian markets to cater to the increasing domestic demand. The company’s expansion will allow it to tap into high-potential regions like the Far East and East Africa, offering customized solutions for both individual and group travelers.
Leadership Vision
Arun Kashyap, who brings extensive experience from Air India and SpiceJet, emphasized the importance of this funding for realizing Sirius India’s growth plans. “We are aiming to secure $100 million capital by this fiscal and have already started the process,” said Kashyap. He added that the company is well-positioned to meet the rising demand for charter services and provide seamless luxury travel experiences.
Future Outlook
Sirius India Airlines is on track to redefine private air travel in India. With its robust expansion strategy and international partnerships, the company aims to establish itself as a leading player in the charter aviation market, both domestically and globally.
